Sandusky Family Christmas

Two days after Christmas, we celebrated the holiday with Uncle Jim and Aunt Jackie. Nolan was so excited that Christmas had been extended! Norah slept, but opened her eyes for this great pic! We relaxed and enjoyed Jim's cooking!

Christmas Day

On Christmas Day, we celebrated with the Gibbons/Gallagher side of the family. By this time, Nolan could rip open a present in no time flat. Over the course of the celebrations, Nolan established the habit of unwrapping a gift and needing to play with it right away! He can be so stinkin' funny!

Christmas Morning

We have had many blessings this Christmas, but I'm going to reflect on two. Giving birth to a healthy baby girl began our Christmas blessings. New life is a treasure. Christmas morning, Nolan gave us another blessing - to see Christmas through a child's eyes. The amazement in his eyes, took our breath away.

One week after Norah was born (12/10), we visited Timothy Whaley and Associates for professional pictures. Too Stinkin' Cute

Sometimes the camera clicks and you end up just loving a picture. I'm in love with these two pictures - one of Nolan and the other of Norah!

Touchdown!

Fantasy football started about 15 weeks ago and ever since our family has watched more games than ever before. The season started out with a season ending injury to Mike's top pick, Tom Brady...but back up quarterback Culter held the team together! With only three losses, Mike made it to the fantasy Super Bowl! Six points down in the final match up, Jennings scored a touchdown to earn Mike the WIN! Way to go Mike!

Ho-Ho-Ho!!

Santa came to town early this year! Aunt Marie - who of course has connections - arranged for Santa to visit Grandma's house on Saturday evening. Nolan's first reaction was to stare in amazement, but that quickly turned to fear. Who knew a big guy in a red suit that bellows "HoHoHo" would scare a little guy just under two years old? Norah slept!

We can't wait for Christmas!

Simplicity of Life

Over the past week or so, we have really enjoyed the simplicity of life. Here we are reading books on the couch! Mike took the picture - but he joined in the fun too! We are very content with our little family!

It's a Girl!

After many months of anticipation, Norah Glenn arrived on December 3rd, 2008 at 11:25 in the morning. She weighed in at 6 pounds, 15 ounces with a length of 20 1/2 inches. Nolan Michael welcomed his baby sister, with an open heart. Mike and I are overjoyed at the opportunity to love and raise both son and a daughter.

This entire experience has reassured me of God's love for my family. This pregnancy was healthy as the miracle of a new life formed within me. The most severe complications included back aches and never ending heartburn! While labor with Norah was induced early Wednesday (12/3) morning, I progressed quickly and safely with the Mike's endless support, my mom's tender encouragement, and the best doctors around. After three hours of "early labor" (aka 1 to 4 cm), 6 hours of active labor (one of which was waiting for Dr. Doah to arrive), and two strong pushes, Norah was born into our family. If I knew every labor would go as well as this one, we'd have a whole litter of children! :)

Nolan immediately took to Norah, wanting to hold her and kiss her. He remembered to be "soft" as he kissed her and pet her head! Asking Nolan the name of his baby sister will result in one of two responses: "Norno" (his attempt at Norah), or "Truck." Funny little guy!

Within hours we were overwhelmed with warm wishes and support from framily and friends - near and far. It is comforting to know how much Nolan, Norah, Mike and I are loved.
